Marie Murray

Marie Murray is a landscape painter based in Belfast.

These oil paintings are from her “Sheephaven” series which attempts to evoke the experience of walking on a Donegal beach in all weathers and seasons – a feeling of vast skies, changing light and fleeting reflections.

The Sandpiper paintings come from watching those little birds racing along the edge of the tide, and are also inspired by the poem “Sandpiper” by Elizabeth Bishop.
